Sue's Classes
Sue Patten is not your typical quilters. Anyone who knows Sue knows her high energy, innovative designs and techniques and would tell you to expect the unexpected! Always with a story to tell or a tip to give, her classes are non-stop educational and fun. Sue is an award winning longarm quilter, who has traveled throughout Canada, The United States and Europe teaching her unique and innovative styles to longarmer, domestic quilters and hand quilters alike. Sue offers a wide variety of classes for all levels of quilters, including hands on, lecture demos, and drawing classes along with a must see, hilariously funny, trunk show. This includes everything from her hand work, to her world- renowned, award-winning thread art quilts. Sue is the author of “Quilting Possibilities…Freehand Filler Patterns” and "Adaptable Quilting Designs" published by AQS Books.
When she is not teaching and writing books she is a designer of stencils, machine embroidery patterns, hand embroidery patterns, Innovative whole cloth designs, longarm computerized patterns, hand and machine quilting designs, thread designer and most importantly mother of three.
Sue has appeared on various TV shows such as “The Quilt Show” with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims, “America Sews” with Sue Hausmann and “Linda Taylors Longarm Quilting Show”. Her work has also been featured in magazines and other author’s books from around the globe.

This class is full of new and innovative ways to spice up those all over designs. Sue combines motifs and all new stipplish background fillers to take an all over quilting to a whole new level. This class explores the use of everything from free motion to computerized pre set designs, the use of stencils, acrylic rulers, and thread play all combined to create a stunning all over style that will wow judges and clients alike. Class Description:
This is not your Grandma's whole cloth! This "hands on " design class will see you complete a 45x45 ZenSuedled Wholecloth, marked in class, stitiched at home. Sue offers a full array of templates, stencils, and rulers as she takes you step by step in marking your own "one of a kind" ZenSuedle. Bring a 45x45 black or dark colored piece of fabric. You will need to bring to class 2-3 Clover white wash away pens, or white marking tools. If you are just interested in learning the art of ZenSuedle but not sure you want to complete such an intense wholecloth, feel free to bring a 18x24 sketch pad paper with 3 fine tip and three medium tip black sharpie markers and just join in the fun.
Supply List :
45X45 piece of fabric, a dark solid color works best, I suggest black, 2 or 3 wash away marking tools I suggest white Clover wash away pens.

Not every quilt screams for feathers. Join Sue and discover a world of alternative designs to create movement and texture. These free motion designs are great for block, sashing and in borders of quilts that scream for anything but feathers. This class is for all levels of quilters and offers everything from light to intense quilting options. Sue will discuss batting, thread choices and touch on how design alters the overall look of the finished top.

Class Description:
Sue and Patricia are at it again! Sisters born on the same day in different years to different parents, they are taking templates and putting a special twist to them. Starting with the same template, they will add a heaping of Their own personal style, mix it with a daring dash of something and a good helping of wild and crazy moods. Each will do their thing. Don't expect to see anything you have seen before as one trys to out do the other. If you would like to add to the class, bring a template you have and let them play with it. Only the clock will stop this class.
